This CPU module has many advanced features including processing speed increase, enhanced I/O bus including higher data traffic capabilities, no restrictions on device address allocations to I/O Modules, executives debugging features, memory protection capabilities, and enhanced data capabilities. The enhanced satellite net capabilities have enabled the PC to start up a communication sequence with a dedicate send/receive instruction.

The enhanced I/O bus transfer between the PC and the I/O module during the I/O refresh eliminates the need for a separate data transfer program. The enhanced diagnostic features include input data parity check, output data check, installed module check, and others. Extensive debugging features available include: sampling trace, break monitor, step-by-step execution, forced I/O ON/OFF control and others.
