The PowerTap is a passive coupling device used to limit trunk current to agency specified values. This current limitation is provided by two standard mini blade-style fast blow type 7.5 A or 3 A fuses.
The PowerTap is also used to permit the connection of multiple power supplies to the trunk without mutual interference. This is achieved through selective use or removal of appropriate fuses
