The ASCII/BASIC module provides a 24-Kbyte programmable coprocessor module that operates independently of the PLC. Two built in RS-232C ports provide easy interface to a variety of external devices including other manufacturers PLCs, computer terminals, operator stations, bar code readers, and any other device utilizing a serial interface. The module is programmable in either BASIC or Assembly providing a platform for complex calculations at the PLC level.
Features: 24Kb battery-backed RAM and 24-Kb EEPROM programmable in BASIC or assembly languages; special commands to initiate communication with the PLC; Two RS-232C ports, 19,200 baud maximum speed; Built in clock/calendar.
