Allen-Bradley 2760-RB

Mount the 2760-RB interface module in Slot 0 of the 1771 chassis (next to the PLC). The 2755-DS/DD barcode decoder communicates through Port 1 of the 2760-RB module. A 1771-ASB interface module can also be used to communicate with the 2760-RB module over the chassis backplane via Remote I/O.

Both the AdaptaScan reader and the 2760-RB are configured to send and recognize the Carriage Return (Cr), Line Feed (Lf) characters to identify a message. When the 2760-RB senses information entering Port 1, it will look for the Cr, Lf. When it sees these trailers, it will Block transfer read (BTR) the preceding bar code data into the PLC program.

The Flexible Interface Module (Catalog No. 2760-RB) is a 2 slot module that allows communications between Allen-Bradley PLCs@, RF Antennas, Bar Code Systems, Machine Vision Products, Message Displays, Programmable Limit Switches, Serial Printers, and other Flexible Interface Modules. An external protocol cartridge plugs into one of two slots on the front of the Flexible Interface Module.
